That’s a Wrap! 4th Nova Scotia Open Goalball Tournament

What a weekend! Congratulations to all athletes, who competed and demonstrated incredible sportsmanship and skill this weekend.

Thank you to each and every volunteer, from the organizing committee to the goal judges to the food crew, you made this event a huge success. Many, many, thanks to the officials for your professionalism and time this weekend.

We’re beyond grateful for the support of all returning Gold, Silver, and Bronze Sponsors, as well as Goalball Supporter contributors. Your donations enable us to create these inpactful opportunities for athletes of so many skill levels and ages to participate in competitive sport.

The 4th Annual Nova Scotia Open Goalball Tournament brings skilled athletes with vision loss from across Canada & the US to Citadel High to compete in a 3-day parasport event like no other on the east coast!

Goalball in Halifax 2018-19 Season Schedule

Blind Sports NS hosts competitive & recreational goalball programs for all ages and skill levels throughout Nova Scotia. Qualified coaches & volunteers make these programs possible.

Recreational Mixed -Saturdays, beginning September 15th until April, 2018, at the George Dixon Centre in Halifax (2502 Brunswick St.). 3:30 to 5 p.m. Recreational goalball is for men & women of all ages and experience levels! Senior Men’s -Sundays, beginning September 16th until April, 2018, at the George Dixon Centre in Halifax (2502 Brunswick St.). 3 to 5 p.m. This weekly goalball practice is for those interested in competing with the provincial men’s team. Dragon Boating Summer 2018 Schedule Now Available

The Dartmouth Dragon Boat Association offers dragon boat sessions for participants with vision loss.

It’s a great opportunity to  get out on the water for fun and fitness.

These dragon boat sessions generally take place from June to September each year at Graham’s Grove Park, Prince Albert Rd. in Dartmouth.

Halifax Bike Week 2018

It’s Bike Week in Halifax (and Regional Municipality)!! Our Tandem Bike Club is excited to be hosting 2 group rides in honour of Bike week 2018:

  • Sunday, June 3rd 10:45 to about 1 pm, Halifax to Tantallon Timmie’s run on the Chain of Lakes & BLT trails.
  • Saturday, June 9th 10:30 to about 3 pm, Halifax to the Train Station Bike and Bean, which we can’t get enough of! This ride is for more experienced cyclists.
    Meet at the St Andrews Centre on Barnstead lane in Halifax.

All our tandems are booked for our group rides on the 3rd & 9th, but we’d love you to join us on your own bike or borrow one of our tandems to attend the many of the official events, listed at this link. There are freebies just for participating, too.
