Sight Classifications

Blind and visually impaired athletes are grouped into one of three (3) sight classifications:

B1: Someone who has no light perception in neither eye, up to light perception but with the inability to recognize the shape of a hand at any distance or from any direction.

B2: Someone who has the ability to recognize the shape of a hand up to the visual acuity of 2/60 and/or monocular visual field of less than 5 degrees.

B3: Someone who has the visual acuity above 2/60 to visual acuity of 6/60 and/or monocular visual field of more than 5 degrees and less than 20 degrees.
