Four teams representing Nova Scotia competed at the 2025 Senior Goalball National Championships last weekend in Saskatoon.<\/h2>\n

Congratulations to all who competed! <\/strong><\/h5>\n

The Nova Scotia A men’s team<\/strong> made a stunning comeback in the semi-final game with British Columbia, scoring a last-minute goal to tie the game followed by a tie-breaking goal in overtime. Nova Scotia A went on to earn the silver second place spot,<\/strong> succumbing to Alberta in a close 9-8 gold medal game. The team consists of Mason Smith, Harry Nickerson, Peter Parsons, Nick Gentleman, player\/coach Matt Bartley, and coach Linda Triff.<\/p>\n

Alexis Nickerson & Jennie Bovard of the Nova Scotia women’s team joined forces with Maryam Salehizadeh and Melody Shih of British Columbia to form team BCNS.<\/strong> They overcame Quebec in the bronze medal game to take home second place.<\/p>\n

Blind Sports Nova Scotia was also proud to have the Nova Scotia women’s team and Nova Scotia B men’s team representing at the competition.<\/strong> Nova Scotia B consists of Oliver Pye, Matt Gentleman, Griffin Hiltz and Yvon Clement.\u00a0 Our Nova Scotia women’s team consists of Tarah Sawler, Alexis Butler, Shams Hamad and Contessa Scott.<\/p>\n
