This year’s Charity Auction for Blind Sports Nova Scotia was our most successful to date!

With over $7,800 raised, every dollar empowers athletes of all ages who are blind to participate in competitive and recreational sport.

Blind Sports Nova Scotia is grateful to each and every donor who made this annual fundraising event a massive success! 

Hosted by Sport Nova Scotia, the Support4Sport Awards is the largest sport recognition event in the province. 

Blind Sports Nova Scotia recognizes and congratulates the following athletes, volunteers, and coaches on being selected for the 2025 edition of these honours!

Volunteer of the Year:

Official of the Year: 

Beth Coish is a dedicated goalball referee and well deserving Support4Sport Official of the Year! We’re incredibly grateful for Beth’s contributions to the Blind Sports Nova Scotia and competitive goalball communities.

Coach of the Year: 

For those connected to the goalball community, Linda MacRae Triff needs no introduction! She’s been a fiercely committed coach and supporter to countless athletes over many decades. 

Team of the Year: 

Congratulations to the Nova Scotia men’s goalball team, a consistently inspiring force to be reckoned with on the goalball court.

Female Junior Athlete of the Year: 

Bravo to Alexis Butler, a tenaciously dedicated rising star on the Canadian goalball scene. 

Male Junior Athlete of the Year: 

Congratulations to the outstanding Harry Nickerson, a repeat MVP who demonstrates sportsmanship at every turn.

Female Senior Athlete of the Year: 

Tarah Sawler’s love for and well-rounded skill in the sport of goalball are evident anytime she steps onto the court. Way to go!

Male Senior Athlete of the Year: 

Peter Parsons is a seasoned, consistent, and dedicated athlete. He’s an invaluable mentor in the local and broader community, proudly representing both Nova Scotia and Canada in the sport of goalball. Congratulations!
